An Aadarsh Samrat (Ideal Emperor) is not the one who rules only for power and luxury, but the one who dedicates his life to the welfare of his people. His reign is based on justice, righteousness, morality, and compassion. He considers himself not just a ruler, but a servant of his subjects.

Qualities of an Ideal Emperor:

1. Justice-loving – An ideal emperor always delivers fair justice without discrimination between rich and poor, high and low.

2. Righteous and Moral – His life is guided by truth, dharma (righteousness), and ethical values. He treats religion and morality as the foundation of his rule.

3. People’s Guardian – He regards his subjects as his own family. Their happiness and sorrow are his own.

4. Bravery and Valor – An ideal emperor protects his kingdom, culture, and people with courage. He faces enemies without fear.

5. Compassion and Generosity – He supports the poor, helpless, and needy. He frames policies for their upliftment.

6. Respect for Knowledge – He honors scholars and promotes education, literature, and culture in his kingdom.

7. Welfare Policies – His rule is not confined to the palace but reaches the villages, farmers, traders, and common citizens.

आदर्श सम्राट वह होता है, जो केवल सत्ता और वैभव के लिए शासन न करे, बल्कि अपनी प्रजा के कल्याण को ही अपने जीवन का ध्येय माने। उसका शासन न्याय, धर्म, नीति और करुणा पर आधारित होता है। वह स्वयं को शासक नहीं, बल्कि प्रजा का सेवक मानता है।

आदर्श सम्राट की कुछ विशेषताएँ इस प्रकार हैं:

1. न्यायप्रियता – आदर्श सम्राट हर स्थिति में न्याय करता है। वह अमीर और गरीब, छोटे और बड़े में कोई भेदभाव नहीं करता।

2. धर्मपरायणता – उसका जीवन सत्य, धर्म और नैतिक मूल्यों पर आधारित होता है। वह धर्म को शासन का आधार मानता है।

3. प्रजावत्सलता – वह अपनी प्रजा को अपने परिवार की तरह मानता है। उसकी खुशी और दुख को अपनी खुशी और दुख समझता है।

4. साहस और पराक्रम – आदर्श सम्राट अपनी भूमि, संस्कृति और प्रजा की रक्षा के लिए सदैव तत्पर रहता है। वह शत्रुओं से निडर होकर मुकाबला करता है।

5. उदारता और करुणा – वह गरीब, दुखी और असहाय लोगों की मदद करता है और उनके उत्थान के लिए योजनाएँ बनाता है।

6. विद्या और ज्ञान का आदर – आदर्श सम्राट विद्वानों का सम्मान करता है और शिक्षा व संस्कृति को बढ़ावा देता है।

7. लोककल्याणकारी नीतियाँ – उसका शासन केवल राजमहल तक सीमित नहीं रहता, बल्कि गाँव, किसान, व्यापारी और साधारण नागरिक तक पहुँचता है।

इतिहास में राजा हरिश्चंद्र, सम्राट अशोक, विक्रमादित्य, चन्द्रगुप्त मौर्य जैसे शासकों को आदर्श सम्राट माना गया है।
